Consultation has concluded
On 22 February 2018 Coffs Harbour City Council resolved to place the draft Coffs Creek and Park Beach Flood Study, its draft Mapping Compendium , and the associated draft Park Beach Management Options Assessment – February 2018 on public exhibition.
The opportunity to provide Council with your feedback has now closed (as of 30 March). Any submissions received during the exhibition period will be assessed and reported to Council. All persons who made submissions will be advised in due course.
The draft flood study for the Coffs Creek (& tributaries) catchment updates older flood estimates using more accurate terrain data, an improved understanding of local rainfall patterns, and more sophisticated modelling techniques. It also considers the impact of the detention basins and other recent flood mitigation improvements.
Council has also used this draft information to review drainage strategies for the Park Beach area. Draft Park Beach Management Options Assessment – February 2018 uses the new draft flood model to assess drainage modifications in the residential and commercial areas of the Park Beach area. The study assesses the reduction in flood damage costs for the various modifications and provides a benefit cost ratio for each option.
