On 28 March 2019 Council resolved to place the following draft policy item (with associated Contributions Plans) on public exhibition for a period of 28 days. Public Submissions are now CLOSED. A subsequent report will go to Council where submissions and a final determination will be made. It is expected that a final determination will be made by mid June 2019.

  • Draft Coffs Harbour City Centre Development Incentive Policy

This draft policy has been designed to help stimulate the development of residential, shop top housing and tourist accommodation within the Coffs Harbour City Centre and as outlined in the Coffs Harbour City Centre Masterplan. Council recognises the many benefits of supporting a vibrant and sustainable central business district. This proactive initiative may help promote and generate an increase in activity within this prominent community and business space.

The draft policy provides a solution to deal with developer charges and contributions arising from the standard development process.

The draft policy document contains further details and is linked to this engagement. There will also be a hardcopy of the draft policy and associated Contribution Plans provided at the Customer Service Centre (Chambers) Building located on the corner of Coffs and Castle Street, Coffs Harbour.

In order for Council to progress the offerings of this policy incentive, it is most beneficial that Council seeks Community feedback. Council welcomes any comments in relation to this policy and requests this feedback to be provided in written form.

All submissions received will be provided to Council and the submissions will assist in the final determination of this policy.
