Planning Proposal - Rural Function Centres and Artisan Food and Drink Industries
The City is seeking community feedback on a planning proposal to amend Coffs Harbour Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2013 to permit with development consent Rural function centres and Artisan food and drink industries on land within Zone RU2 Rural Landscape.
Amendments to Coffs Harbour LEP 2013 will:
Introduce two new clauses in Part 7 Additional Local Provisions to permit with development consent Rural function centres and Artisan food and drink industries in Zone RU2 Rural Landscape.
Introduce a new mapping layer identifying land in Zone RU2 Rural Landscape on which Rural function centres and Artisan food and drink industries will be permitted with development consent, excluding land that is identified as Important Farmland under the North Coast Regional Plan 2041.
Amendments to Coffs Harbour Development Control Plan (DCP) 2015 are also proposed to align with the changes. These amendments relate to the requirement for consideration of operational and environmental impacts of the developments in Zone RU2 Rural Landscape.
Due to technical issues with the Have Your Say webpage, Community Feedback on this proposal has been extended until Wednesday 25 February 2026.
