Proposed Amendments to Planning Controls for Development in the Coastal Vulnerability Area
Council is proposing amendments to a number of coastal planning controls within the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area coastline. The proposed amendments to planning controls include:
- Inclusion of ‘coastal vulnerability area’ mapping for the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area within the State Environmental Planning Policy (Coastal Management) and removal of reference to the foreshore area from Coffs Harbour Local Environmental Plan 2013;
- associated amendments to Coffs Harbour Development Control Plan 2015; and
- a Coastal Vulnerability Area Policy.
The new planning framework for the management of coastal hazard within the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area provides a simplified merits based assessment of development on land impacted by coastal hazard.
The exhibition period is from Monday 7 March 2022 to close of business on Monday 4 April 2022. The proposed amendments to planning controls and policy and all related information can be viewed in the document library on this web page. See the Frequently Asked Questions on this web page for further information. The Coastal Vulnerability Map can be viewed here - https://arcg.is/10SiSv.
**NOTE** Face to face enquiries and consultation are by appointment only.
