Consultation has concluded
Council is currently reviewing and updating its Local Growth Management Strategy – a key document that governs how we plan for population growth over the next twenty years, while protecting valuable environmental and agricultural land as well as neighbourhood character.
Coffs Harbour City Council adopted the Local Growth Management Strategy - Chapter 5 -Rural Lands at its Ordinary Meeting of 26 March 2020.
At this meeting it was resolved that Council adopt Coffs Harbour Local Growth Management Strategy – Chapter 5 Rural Lands subject to the deletion of the action to “amend Coffs Harbour LEP 2013 to require consent for intensive plant agriculture within Zone RU2 Rural Landscape" and resolved to allocate additional resources to assist the State Government and the intensive agricultural industry by supportive monitoring in the areas of water quality, water usage and illegal clearing.
Council now seeks endorsement by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to allow the document to be used as part of its Local Growth Management Strategy for the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area.
