Community and Cultural Facilities Planning

Council is undertaking studies into community facilities broadly across the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area (LGA). Our community facilities being reviewed include community and youth centres, halls and other indoor venues (including cultural or performing arts spaces). These studies will ensure we can put plans in place to provide facilities that meet the needs of our growing community now and in the future.

We’ve engaged consultants to speak with facility-users, sector professionals and industry groups to gather further information on sector needs, gaps and opportunities.

This work has involved the following projects running simultaneously:

  • A review and audit of Council's community and cultural facilities and venues
  • Issues and Options Analysis for Performing Arts Spaces – Indoor and Outdoor
  • City Hill Scoping Project Site Analysis.

The outcome will be a Community and Cultural Facilities Plan that provides a strategic framework to guide decision-making about Council’s community and cultural facilities and identify future development needs across the Coffs Harbour LGA over the next 10 years.

This project and the associated studies have been identified in Creative Coffs - Cultural Strategic Plan 2017-2022 and through resolution of Council.

There will be opportunities for the community and stakeholders to provide feedback on the Draft Plan in the later part of 2020. You can opt-in to be kept up to date about this project.

This page will be updated throughout the project.
