FAQs
What is the Community Strategic Plan (Plan)?
Every council is required under legislation to have a Community Strategic Plan. The Plan is City’s main strategic document. It is everyone’s roadmap for the future of the Coffs Harbour region. The Plan sets out the community’s vision and provides a direction for everything we will do together over the coming years to make the vision a reality. It outlines long-term goals, strategies to achieve them, and measures to track progress. The Plan guides the City's plans, policies, budgets and advocacy ensuring a cohesive approach to planning for our community.
The key requirements of a Community Strategic Plan include addressing social, environmental, economic and civic leadership issues, premised on social justice principles and alignment with the State Plan and other relevant state and regional plans.
See the Office of Local Government for further information.
Who delivers the CSP?
The CSP is a collaborative effort. It details how City of Coffs Harbour, along with the community, business, all levels of government, and non-government partners, will work together to address key challenges and achieve the desired outcomes.
Why does the Council create the plan?
The City of Coffs Harbour leads the development of the plan on behalf of the community. The City initiates, prepares and maintains the Community Strategic Plan, however there is a shared responsibility to implement it. Other partners, such as state and federal agencies and community groups will also be involved in delivering the long-term goals of the plan
Do Councillors get a say in the review of the CSP?
Absolutely! Councillors are community advocates and representatives. In partnership with the community, Councillors will contribute to the review of the Plan, ensuring that it reflects the current priorities of our community.
When will the Community be able to provide feedback on the revised Plan?
The revised CSP will be placed on public exhibition in early 2025.
When will the CSP be adopted?
