A Masterplan for Emerald Beach Reserve has been developed and approved following extensive consultation with the local community since 2017. The community endorsed appointment of a Community Reference Group has been a key part of the process since 2018 and has provided a robust forum to discuss ideas and bring in community comment to inform a draft plan. This plan has been driven by the results of a community survey administered by an independent research company in 2019 and the feedback received during exhibition of the proposed masterplan from 9th July until 6th August 2021.

The survey results told us that the majority of respondents supported retaining the road through the park in some form. You can read the full breakdown of the survey results in the Documents section of this page.

The recent exhibition has provided a result which shows that the majority of people who made submissions supported the plan.

The results and outcomes of this consultation can be found in the Documents section of this page.

Adoption of a Masterplan for the day use area will allow us to progress to the next stages of seeking grant funding and a detailed design for carrying out upgrades to the elements of the Masterplan including things like parking and roadworks, drainage, new amenities, playground, pathways and picnic facilities etc.

You can find information about the project's development in the Key Dates and Q&A sections of this page.
