Coffs Harbour Events Strategy
From major sporting tournaments and music festivals to local markets and community celebrations, events help make the Coffs Coast a vibrant and connected place to live, work and visit.
The Draft Events Strategy 2026–2035 outlines a shared vision for the future of events across the region and how they can continue to benefit our community over the next decade.
The strategy aims to create a balanced and sustainable events calendar—building on Coffs Harbour's reputation as a regional sporting capital while expanding opportunities for music, arts, food, culture and community experiences.
Events bring people together, create vibrant public spaces, celebrate local culture and support local businesses. They also help attract visitors and investment to the region.
What will the strategy deliver?
The draft strategy outlines how the City plans to:
- Build a more balanced events calendar, with greater opportunities for music, arts, culture and food experiences.
- Strengthen Coffs Harbour's reputation as Australia's leading regional sporting capital.
- Support and grow well-loved local events and community celebrations.
- Attract new events that showcase the Coffs Coast lifestyle and identity.
- Improve how events are planned, assessed and supported.
- Explore future infrastructure opportunities to support larger events, conferences and festivals.
Why events matter to our community
Events contribute to community connection, cultural vibrancy and a strong local economy.
Feedback gathered during community engagement highlighted strong support for events across the region:
- 9 in 10 residents believe events and festivals are important.
- 7 in 10 support greater investment in events and event infrastructure.
Residents would like to see more music, food, cultural, arts and night-time events alongside our strong sporting calendar.
By planning ahead, the City can support a diverse, sustainable and inclusive events calendar that reflects community aspirations, strengthens the local economy and enhances the lifestyle that makes the Coffs Coast unique.

What happens next
Once the exhibition period closes, we'll review all feedback received and consider whether any changes are needed to the Draft Strategy.
The final strategy will then be presented to Council for consideration.
