Help shape our Homelessness Strategy

We’re seeking your feedback on the Draft Homelessness Strategy – a document that outlines our role to support ending homelessness in our community.

Homelessness is complex, and there is no simple or single solution. Solutions to homelessness require a commitment from the whole community and all levels of government. Your feedback will help ensure the final strategy reflects our community’s values, needs, and priorities.

Whether you’re a service provider, lived experience advocate, or concerned community member — we want to hear from you.

Purpose of the draft strategy

This draft Strategy presents initiatives for the City to advocate and work together with our community, Specialist Homelessness Services, the housing sector, business sector, and other levels of government to help end homelessness in the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area.

The draft Homelessness Strategy sets out:

  • Key drivers and risks contributing to homelessness in our region
  • Policies and principles that guide the City’s response to homelessness
  • Planned advocacy actions and priorities for the City to support ending homelessness
  • Partnership opportunities with Specialist Homelessness Services, community groups, and other sectors and levels of government

It has been developed through early engagement with stakeholders across the housing, health, and social support sectors, and builds on existing initiatives and data.
