Coffs Harbour City Council is undertaking a project to:

  • Review and update the 2012-2016 Library Service strategic plan; and
  • Develop a Regional Gallery strategic plan.

These new plans will guide the development of these important Council services for the next five years and will aim to support the overarching Creative Coffs Cultural Strategic Plan 2017-22.

Council operates a number of cultural and community facilities, including a Theatre, Regional Museum, a library service consisting of a central library in the Coffs Harbour CBD (Harry Bailey Memorial Library) and two branch libraries at Toormina and Woolgoolga, as well as a Regional Gallery co-located with the central library at Rigby House, on the corner of Coff and Duke Streets in Coffs Harbour.

The planning process will also help to inform the needs of the Library and Regional Gallery service areas in relation to the proposed Cultural and Civic Space project, which is to included new expanded facilities for the Harry Bailey Memorial Library and Regional Gallery on the selected site on Gordon Street.

Consultancy firm, Project Sisu, has been engaged to undertake this work. The majority of the stakeholder engagement phase will take place in February/March, with draft plans expected in mid-2018 and final plans adopted in 2018/19.
