Consultation closed: Thank you to everyone who took part in the community consultation for the Park Beach Reserve playground renewal. All feedback and voting results are currently being reviewed and will be used to confirm the preferred playground concept.

The preferred concept will then be refined into a detailed final design, ready for construction in early 2026 (weather permitting).

What we heard from the community

Through the consultation process, the community told us they want:

  • An inclusive playground that caters for all ages and abilities
  • Adventurous and challenging play alongside spaces for younger children
  • Play experiences that reflect the coastal setting of Park Beach
  • A high‑quality, destination‑level play space for locals and visitors

These priorities directly shaped the concept designs.

Playground concept designs

A new, exciting playground is coming to Park Beach Reserve!
Five concept designs were developed by specialist playground designers based on community feedback.

Option 1: Wave Wonders - View the design here.
A fully inclusive playground with multi-slide towers, climbing routes, and nature play zones. Features like a wheelchair carousel and sway glide make adventure fun for all ages.

Option 2: Seaside Peaks - View the design here.
Twin coastal-inspired towers with climbing, lookout points, and balance paths. Water-play and sensory areas connect children to the surrounding landscape.

Option 3: Adventure Cove - View the design here.
A high-energy playground with slides, rope challenges, and a basket swing, plus a little-kids zone with sand, water, and nature play. Older kids can enjoy a half basketball court too.

Option 4: Tide Trail Adventure - View the design here.
Sail into adventure with climbing towers, rope routes, and interactive play elements. Inclusive features like a carousel and mouse house make it fun for all abilities.

Option 5: Pirate Play Cove - View the design here.

Why is this happening?

The current playground is reaching the end of its life. The new playground will be delivered in two stages, with $1 million in funding across two financial years, providing a modern, inclusive, and destination-quality play space for the community.
