Disaster recovery is challenging for everyone. Having a plan in place before disaster strikes helps make recovery quicker and smoother.

We are preparing a Local Pre-Event Recovery Plan, and encourage community members to get involved to share your ideas, thoughts and concerns so that the Plan meets you community's needs.

The floods, fires, storms and pandemic of recent years have shown us that disasters can have long-lasting impacts. They’ve also shown us that communities will face adversity together, and support their neighbours, friends and strangers through tough times.

During this time, we have been working with relevant agencies, organisations and residents to help try and better prepare our community for future emergencies.

The next step in the process is to build resilient community by ensuring you have the resources you need available and giving you the opportunity to connect with others in your community.

  • We invite you to share your thoughts, ideas and concerns to help us understand your community’s values, vision for the future, and what you would prioritise as part of a disaster recovery.

Short survey will take 5-10mins to provide feedback.

The feedback received will assist the City in providing support during the recovery phase, based on a community-led approach.

When answering the survey questions, we ask you to think about your local village, suburb or town and how connected and involved you feel to your neighbourhood.

The survey is a valuable tool to preserve, promote, and protect the health and safety of residents. The data will be shared with public safety partners to improve our ability to plan and respond to emergencies.
