Public Exhibition of the Coffs Harbour City Council Code of Meeting Practice

Consultation has concluded and the policy has been adopted.

Coffs Harbour City Council has prepared a draft Code of Meeting Practice consistent with the Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW.

In accordance with section 361 of the Local Government Act 1993, councils are required to exhibit a draft of the code of meeting practice for at least 28 days and provide members of the community at least 42 days in which to comment on the draft code.

Copies of the draft Code of Meeting Practice will also be available for inspection at Council’s Administration building and the Coffs Harbour, Toormina and Woolgoolga Libraries.

Public exhibition and comments closed at 5:00pm, Wednesday 29 May 2019.

    Council is committed to openness and transparency in its decision making processes.  The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 requires Council to provide public access to information held unless there are overriding public interest considerations against disclosure.  Any submissions received will be made publicly available unless the writer can demonstrate that the release of part or all of the information would not be in the public interest.  However, Council would be obliged to release information as required by court order or other specific law.
