Help develop our Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy
Consultation has concluded
Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback—Council adopted the Coffs Waste Strategy on 27 June 2024. The strategy sets out a smarter, more sustainable approach to managing waste in our region. You can read the media release here: Wising up on waste in Coffs Harbour(External link).

The Stage 1 consultation period ended on Sunday, September 1. We appreciate everyone who provided feedback.
We are now in the process of reviewing the community input and technical data to help shape the draft Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy. Once the draft Strategy is finalised, it will be presented to the Council later this year. Following the Council's endorsement, it will be put on public exhibition in early 2025.
Sort it out! It's too good to waste
Help shape the City of Coffs Harbour’s Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy to achieve sustainable reduction in waste.
The Strategy will focus on providing sustainable, well-planned infrastructure and services that consider the needs of our expanding community, rapidly evolving waste industry and the protection of our unique environment, both now and into the future.
We’d like to your input on these areas:
- current household behaviours around waste
- community ideas to minimise landfill waste
- suggestions to enhance recycling and resource recovery.
We want to know what you do, and what you want us to do to help move towards a sustainable future.
