Consultation has concluded

We have reviewed and amended the Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy.

This policy is required by the Local Government Act 1993 (Act) and establishes accountability and transparency in providing facilities, resources and reimbursing expenses incurred by the Mayor and Councillors.

The policy was amended to reflect the Office of Local Government (OLG) better practice template. After review, there were only minor formatting changes, updates to legislation, and changes to some clauses to bring into line with the OLG’s model policy.

On 10 November 2022 Meeting, Council resolved to "give public notice of its intention to adopt the draft Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy as attached and allow at least 28 days for the making of public submissions".
