Join Community Recovery Specialist Anne Leadbeater for discussions around the psychological impacts of disaster, effect of high adrenalin and stages of grief, recovery over time and community-led recovery. Anne has worked extensively with communities recovering from disasters across Australia and New Zealand and was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for her work in the aftermath of the 2009 Victorian bushfires. Anne is currently reviewing the National Community Recovery Handbook.

Community Recovery Office Now Open at Nana Glen

A Community Recovery Office has been established by Coffs Harbour City Council at Nana Glen (next door to the General Store). The office is a hub to assist those impacted by the 2019 bushfires. See the Documents section of this page for details. Please note that due to the Coronavirus pandemic hours may vary.

Blazeaid fencing and other asistance team now located at Glenreagh Recreation Reserve

BLAZEAID has now set up camp at the Glenreagh Recreation Reserve to help residents in the Nana Glen and Glenreagh area whose properties have been affected by the recent natural disasters. Please note that this camp is a joint effort between Coffs Harbour City and Clarence Valley Councils.

Council consulting and giving consideration to priorities for expenditure of the $1 million Australian Government to Council to help quickly rebuild vital infrastructure and strengthen community resilience. Projects recommended for priority funding consideration will offer the greatest level of assistance and impact.

Nana Glen Bushfire Recovery Meeting #1 at Nana Glen Community Hall

About 75 residents and 12 government and volunteer agencies came together with Council to discuss bushfire impacts, lessons learned, ideas for recovery and for improved future disaster management.
