Community Survey - Potential Management Options
Coffs Harbour City Council is currently developing a Coastal Management Program (CMP) for the estuaries of Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River (the Northern Estuaries). The purpose of the CMP is to set the long term strategy for the management of the estuaries to improve and maintain their environmental, social, cultural and recreational values and manage the current and emerging issues.
We are now in Stage 3 of the CMP process, which involves identifying specific option that can address the various threats and risks affecting the estuaries. The project team has developed an initial list of potential options, but we want to hear from the community on their thoughts regarding these options.
We are asking for your help to:
1. Provide feedback on the management options that have been proposed by the project team to date. This will involve stepping through a brief description of each option, and then providing feedback on whether 1) you support the option; 2) you are neutral or have no opinion; or 3) you do not support the option.
2. Provide your suggestions and opinions for other potential management actions that you think should be included in the CMP.
Once community feedback is received, the information will be used to help prioritise and rank management options. This process will also include weighing up their various benefits and costs against multiple criteria. We will then be able to identify the most effective, viable, and supported actions from the list. The result will be a condensed action list that will be included in the CMP. The community will have another opportunity to provide feedback on the condensed list of actions when the CMP goes to public exhibition in early-mid 2022.
There are 20 questions to step through, and the survey should take around 30 minutes to complete. The survey will be open until 13th February 2022.
