Draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan - 2026-2030
Public Exhibition closed
Community consultation on the draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026 - 2030 was open from 23 March to 22 April 2026. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback and shape how the City can create a more accessible and inclusive community for everyone.
The feedback received will help refine the strategy and will be considered by Council when the final strategy is presented for adoption. The final report is scheduled to be considered by Council at its meeting on 18 June 2026.
During the consultation period, the City invited the community to review the draft strategy and provide feedback through the Have Your Say website, stakeholder engagement activities and direct consultation with key user groups.
What is the plan about?
The Draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030 sets out how the City plans to improve inclusion and accessibility for people with disability, their families and carers over the next four years.
The Plan focuses on reducing barriers, improving access to services and facilities, promoting positive attitudes, and supporting participation in community life.
It also recognises that creating an inclusive community benefits everyone — including older people, families, carers, visitors and people with temporary or changing needs.
The Plan has been informed by legislation, best practice and early community input — and now we’re seeking feedback before it’s finalised.
