Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and feedback. The consultation period for the Park Beach Movement and Place Plan is now closed. Community input collected during this phase will help shape the draft Plan.

Help shape the future of Park Beach - we want to hear from you!

Park Beach is a diverse coastal community known for its special natural places and other attractions that are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Coffs Harbour is growing, and we need to plan for additional housing to accommodate our growing population. Park Beach has been identified as a suitable location to accommodate more housing due to its proximity to transport, employment centres, retail facilities and outdoor recreation areas.β€―

We’re preparing a Movement and Place Plan for Park Beach

The Park Beach Movement and Place Plan will set the vision for the future form, function and character of Park Beach. It will guide how people move around in future (by walking, bike riding, driving or public transport) and how the area will look and function as a place and a community (housing, parks, streets and community facilities).

The Plan will identify opportunities for:

  • New housing, while respecting Park Beach's character and natural environment.
  • Improvements to streets, footpaths, transport and connectivity.
  • Upgrades to parks, recreation spaces and public infrastructure.
  • Celebrating Aboriginal culture and local stories.
  • Ensuring Park Beach remains a valued tourism and visitation destination.

Once adopted, the Plan will provide short, medium and long-term priorities to guide decision-making and investment in Park Beach.

This is your chance to help the City of Coffs Harbour (Council) understand what matters most to the community and guide future decisions on housing, transport, community facilities and infrastructure.

What we asked the community?

During the consultation period, we invited residents, businesses and visitors to help share their ideas through:

Community Survey – Share your views as a resident on housing, transport, and local priorities.
Business Survey – Tell us what matters for your business in Park Beach.
Mapping Tool – Drop a pin to highlight ideas or issues in specific locations.
Ideas Wall – Post your suggestions and see what others are sharing.

πŸ“… Consultation closed on Sunday 7 December

What happens next

Now that engagement has closed, the City will:

  • Review all feedback and ideas received.
  • Incorporate the ideas and feedback into the draft Movement and Place Plan.
  • Present the draft plan to Council for consideration.
  • If Council endorses the draft plan, we will place it on public exhibition for your review and comment.
Your feedback will directly influence how Park Beach grows and develops, ensuring housing, parks and streets meet community needs while protecting what makes it special.
