Road Naming Proposals

As the road naming authority for local roads, Coffs Harbour City Council invites community comments on road naming proposals.

Road Naming Applications are lodged by developers for new roads being created within residential and commercial estates and at times individuals lodge requests for unnamed lanes to be formally names and Gazetted, to improve property identification in the event of emergency.

Proposed road names must comply with the Geographical Names Board's Guidelines (see the Documents section of this page to download a copy of the Guidelines). Road names must not refer to a living person and duplicate road names are not permitted within a local government area.

Please refer to the Images section and Documents section to view maps and descriptions of these proposed roads. The Key Dates section provides the consultation period for the proposals.

Submissions regarding proposals may be in writing and addressed to the General Manager by within the relevant Consultation Period, or lodged online through the Surveys on this page after Registering your contact details.

Council welcomes and encourages community input to its decision making processes and is committed to openness and transparency.

Any submissions received will be made publicly available unless the writer can demonstrate that the release of part or all of the information would not be in the public interest.
