Community Facilities Planning

Council is undertaking studies into community facilities broadly across the Local Government Area. Our community facilities being reviewed include community and youth centres, halls and other indoor and outdoor venues ( including performing arts spaces). These studies will ensure we can put plans in place to provide facilities that meet the needs of our growing community now and in the future.

We’ve engaged consultants to speak with facility-users, sector professionals and industry groups to gather further information on sector needs, gaps and opportunities. A community survey is due to open in October.

This work includes:

  • A review and audit of Council's community facilities and venues
  • Issues and Options Analysis for Performing Arts Spaces – Indoor and Outdoor

There will be opportunities for the community and stakeholders to provide feedback and participate in the process between now and February 2020. You can opt-in to be kept up to date about this project.

The outcome will be a Plan that provides strategic direction, if adopted, for Council now and into the future.

A separate part of this research will include a Site Analysis as part of the City Hill Scoping project.

This project and the associated work have been identified in Creative Coffs - Cultural Strategic Plan 2017-2022 and through resolution of Council.

This page will be updated throughout the project.

  • Are you a community organisation, private entity, school or business looking at options to build community or cultural infrastructure?  Are you considering to build a venue, hall or facility that can be used for community or cultural purposes?

We would like to hear from you. Council would like to connect with organisations looking to develop infrastructure to know more about your ideas and the opportunities you may be considering.

This will enable Council to gain a clear idea of the current landscape in the area and identify stakeholders, potential partners and interested parties who would like to contribute to future infrastructure development in the Coffs Harbour area.
