Community Facilities (includes Cultural Facilities) Planning

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this link

Council is undertaking studies into community facilities broadly across the Local Government Area. Our community facilities being reviewed include community and youth centres, halls and other indoor venues (including performing arts spaces). These studies will ensure we can put plans in place to provide facilities that meet the needs of our growing community now and in the future.

We’ve engaged consultants to speak with facility-users, sector professionals and industry groups to gather further information on sector needs, gaps and opportunities.

This work includes:

  • A review and audit of Council's community and cultural facilities and venues
  • Issues and Options Analysis for Performing Arts Spaces – Indoor and Outdoor
  • City Hill Site Analysis and Scoping

There will be opportunities for the community and stakeholders to provide feedback and participate in the broader community facility planning process between December 2019 and 3 March 2020. You can opt-in to be kept up to date about this project.

The outcome will be a Plan (similar to the Sports Facility Plan) that provides strategic direction, if adopted, for Council now and into the future.

This project and the associated studies have been identified in Creative Coffs - Cultural Strategic Plan 2017-2022 and through resolution of Council.

This page will be updated throughout the project.
