We are building a new playground, pathways, picnic facilities, skate park and multi-purpose court at Sandy Beach Reserve.

We are building a new playground, pathways, picnic facilities, skate park and multi-purpose court at Sandy Beach Reserve.
This work is the result of the Sandy Beach Reserve Masterplan developed in partnership with the local community in 2017. The projects in the plan were prioritised by the community and will be implemented as funding becomes available.
More than 70 per cent of consultation participants supported the concept plan to proceed as presented at public exhibition, with 77 per cent supporting the inclusion of the skate elements and multi-purpose court.
The skate park and mutli-purpose court have been designed and located in line with Safer by Design principles and community input.
Sandy Beach Reserve forms part of the Coffs Coast Regional Park. The Regional Park is managed by Coffs Harbour City Council and the National Parks and Wildlife Service, under the guidance of the Coffs Coast Regional Park Trust Board, which is appointed by the NSW Government.
A total of $900,000 is allocated for design and construction of the Sandy Beach Reserve Community Hub and Active Youth Space. Funding is provided by the NSW Government, Coffs Harbour City Council and the Coffs Coast Regional Park.
Consultation summary
Consultation was undertaken with the community which help inform the development of the concept plan. We held a workshop on the 10 March 2021 and ran consultation between June and July, were over 170 local community members provided input and shared their ideas.

The Community Hub and Active Youth Space components form part of the overall Sandy Beach Reserve Masterplan, was developed in consultation with the Sandy Beach community and formally adopted in 2017.
The design and location of these facilities incorporates Safer by Design principles and takes into consideration views expressed about both these elements of the Active Youth Space.
Online participants nominated the inner connecting pathways and shared pathway, skate park, multi-purpose court and picnic areas as their favoured elements within the concept design.
